  I also both like Kurt Cavin and Kevin Lee, they seem like nice knowledgeable people. However to the best of what I know they are the only game in town. Neither seem to be gearheads which I would think would be important in any discussion of auto racing. Thats part of the passion of motorsports. Any discussion of bench racing that you mention in your article would include talking tech, the cars themselves, chassis set up, engine prep, race strategy etc… While tech talk might leave some listeners cold it would would be nice to do a small segment where they talk about the cars as much as the drivers, tracks and other things. One way would be to interview some of the other members of the teams. Speed.com has had articles by Mike Hull and Tim Cindric where they talk about strategy and that's interesting. I think they have had Cindric on the show but I don't know about others…

  NASCAR is NOT a sport. Racing is a sport. Racing and boxing are the only two sports. Everything else is a game. The game of golf, the game of baseball, etc. NASCAR is a series; a series overtaken by greasy-handed steering wheel holders who spend more time practicing their pre-race and post-race interviews than turning wrenches. Twenty-plus years ago, before the Jimmie's and Denny's and Kyle's (except for Kyle Petty) drivers, and they were drivers back then, were expected to participate in chassis setup, engine changes, and other mechanically-inclined procedures. They also new how to fight. Just ask Cale Yarborough or the Allison boys. Does anyone honestly believe that Logano kid would stand a chance against a young Dale Eanrhardt? Absolutely not. So why debate the merits of a SERIES when the participants are better served as Vaseline poster children. Does Vaseline sponsor anyone?

  the KR was a peculiar situation in that it was late to market and the 2010 GT500 offered similar power and performance for a lot less.  additionally, there were far fewer (~1000/model year) KRs, so dealers got greedy up front, then the economy collapsed and the cars sat, eventually being sold below sticker.  the KR exhaust is still a thing of complete wonder tho, just makes one want to act the complete fool at every opportunity. the Boss doesn’t have the Shelby pedigree to hype up demand from that segment of the buying population, but I suspect the lower MSRP will mean they all sell at or above sticker.  other than the engine upgrades, I suspect that one could put together the chassis setup for not an absurd amount of money by buying the parts from the dealer directly.
