Will a 94 Geo Prizm and Toyota Corolla crankshaft pulley be the same?
The crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer) on my 94 Geo Prizm is shot. I'd like to go junkyard shopping, but none of the yards around my area have pulleys for a 94 Prizm. They do however have a bunch of them for Corollas.
My question is whether I could pull one from a Corolla to use on my Prizm to avoid paying for a new one.
No, the harmonic balancer is part of the balancing for the engine crankshaft. Even if it fit, you would probably have a vibration that increased with engine speed.
I would try to find a balancer used and have it shipped to you, or get a new one.
