I've watched several clips of this on YouTube. These trucks are posting really good ET's like low 11's and high 10's. But even though, they seem to launch off the line really slow and then build up speed. I thought the torque of a diesel would get them off the line quick.
it takes a lot to get all that weight moving. and the wheels are bigger so it takes more to turn them so to speak. Everythings bigger and theres only so much you can do to get it moving!

3300lb car runs 5.30 second ets in 1/8 mile drag race. how much horsepower does this require?

A 5.30 sec 1/8 time equates to a 8.27 sec 1/4 mile time according to the first chart. If you scroll down to where it says "Calculate Your HP from Your ET" for a car that weighs 3300lbs (including driver) it takes 1168 HP to do an 8.27 ET or 5.30 ET for the 1/8 mile. If you have or plan to upgrade your car to that much BHP I wouldn't mind taking it out for a spin lol. The sound of those big turbo Supras is out of this world.
