Who is paying for the health care of Maj. Nidal M. Hasan?
If I commit a crime with my car, such as drag racing, my auto insurance will not cover me for any damages caused with my car and to my car. I don't think Hasan's health plan should be paying for his health care. This will raise everyone else's premiums that belong to that health plan.

Was is the maximum amount of damages one side can demand from the other side in the car accident in IL?
My relative was in a car accident. It is still undetermined if he was in complete fault. But the other party (motorcyclist) was taken with some serious injuries (not much details we know or could find out now) to the Level 1 Hospital. Although there is an insurance coverage for bodily injury (50000/100000) - we are concerned that bills may accumulate above this amount. What is the maximum amount of the damages the person can sue my relative for in the civil court in IL. A few facts - it was a pure accident, no alcohol intoxication or drag racing. Pretty much pulling at <5 miles/hr from the parking lot on to the main road and motorcycle just ran into the car. Thank you and any legal knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
There is no maximum amount one can sue or be sued for. The sky is the limit. If the court awards anything over the insurance limits, the loser has to pay the balance out of pocket.
