How do I start racing?
I want to get into racing. Drift and track mainly. No drag. I have no money unfortunately so I was curious to know if there are places that teach you how to drive professionally and help you get jobs and such related to that field and also help you get into racing on a professional scale. Kind of like car and driver car testers or something along those lines. I am also curious to know what sites I can look at that keeps me updated on local events (Las Vegas) as well as how do I get started?
I try to make it to track events but money is just so tight I haven't gone in over a year. I know money helps but is there anything else I can do right now?
You can always afford to volunteer to help on a team. Go to your nearest track and walk up and down the pits asking teams if they need help. That's how I got started , now I'm paid ( free entry, food and lodging ) to be a Crew Chief on a small short track stock car team. But the best thing is I'vee made a lot of contacts , gained a lot of knowledge and it gave me some time to build up my tools and equipment which will help me next year when I start up my own program.
Remember if people see commitment from you they may give you a break.
