TH 350, TH400, or PowerGlide?
I race a 1978 Chrevolet 1/2 ton 4X4. It has a 388 cubic inch stroker motor, proform 850 carb with fuel rail, Brodix 10 alum. heads with matching intake. I race in dirt drags on a 300 ft track. I run consistent 5.0 seconds on the track. I recently have had transmission problems, and i want to know what transmission would be better for this type racing, a Th 350, Th400, or PowerGlide. they tell me that a TH 400 may slow my E.T. time. Oh, and also i run a trans brake. What would be the better set up on the tranny?
i have the B&M Ratchet shifter in the truck, is this ok? i currently have the 350 and it works great, so i think it may g=be a good idea to stay with it.

oh yea, by the way, i only run 1st and 2nd gear
The 350 would be your best bet. The power glide would still be in the 1st gear range through out the run. The 350 would have given you the power transition at peak torque to 2nd gear. Stay with what is working for you.
