drag racing games What do you look for in racing games?
I am working on a drag racing game (based on old school drag races like the TV show Pinks) using OpenGL in C. The game will be multiplayer - you can Pink Slip or bet money (you earn money racing against bots).
What would you expect in a game like this? Obviously like engine mods, suspension mods, and full customization of the vehicle; but what else? (You will have the option of automatic or manual transmissions - the automatic shifts at lower RPMs so you accelerate a tad bit slower).
I wouldn't want something that is repetative.
I'd want something that is fairly realistic, yet fun at the same time.
Maybe you should add something like a car show where people can vote on which cars are the best looking or the best performance or both.
Also, I think one thing racing games are lacking are customization of the stages.
Customizing the stage would be nice, or even making your own tracks.
