drag racing lights Why does drag racing look so easy up until you do it for the first time?
Pretty simple. Roll up, stage the car, lights go green and you go. No problems. Real easy. Yeah, sure. Right up until it's you on the line for the first time trying not to look stupid. I enjoy watching first timers. There's about a thousand ways to screw up at drag racing. What are your big foul ups at the track? I think mine would have to breaking the rear gear during the burnout. That's always embarassing. Great stories, people! We all do something dumb now and then, but at the track there's usually a decent crowd on hand to laugh at you.
I never could do a burnout right in a door car!! Still can't!! I had to wire my line loc through a switch cause when I had the button, I would always let off of it when I shifted!! I also live by a three step so now all I have to do is put the pedal to the floor and shift!!
I bet I can beat your rear gear story!! I sheared my studs off while doing a burnout during time runs. I had some extra ones so I was able to fix it before the race. The wheel tub it pretty much destroyed was a different story!!!
I screw up all the time when night racing at a poorly lit track. I have rapped the motor and hit the brakes at the mph cone while being a slower car more than I want to admit!!!
My favorite noob thing to see is staging with the rear wheels!!! I like to see new people come into the sport and understand you gotta start some how, but I still laugh about it!! Im sure I have given some good reasons for people to laugh at me!!
