someone who is good with math! mph to fps to distance and stuff?
im being sued of drag racing and getting into an accident that wasn't my fault.. im gonna prove i wasn't racing..Nissan 350z does 0 to 60 in 5.4 seconds. they say i was doing 60mph at the time of the accident. this is far as i got... 0 to 60 in 5.4 seconds= 220 ft give or take. the distance i traveled was 692ft. how fast would i have been doing if i was flooring it (as you would do if you were racing) and how far would i have traveled?

Assume constant acceleration - very doubtful assumption:
0 to 60 mph in 5.4 sec => a = 60/5.4 mph/sec = 88/5.4 ft/sec²
So assuming constant acceleration from a standing stop, what is the speed after traveling a distance of 692ft?
V = √(2ad) = √(2*88*692/5.4) = 150.2 ft/sec = 102 mph
But that's a bogus number because it assumes constant acceleration. If the Nissan 350z were capable of constant acceleration at the 0 to 60 in 5.4 sec rate, it would be capable of 0 to 120 in 10.8 seconds.
The other side of the coin, as I understand it, is how far would you travel in the 5.4 seconds of acceleration from 0 to 60 from a standing stop.:
S = 0.5*at² = 0.5(88/5.4)(5.4)²
S = 0.5*88*5.4 = 238 feet
