I thought that you could to go Irwindale or one of the other legal drag strips around LA late night on friday nights and race for free as long as your car passes a very small safety inspection. Basically if you were able to drive it there then they wil let you race.
These races had actually been sanctioned by the LAPD to reduce street racing.
If you want road courses then check out the nasa or the scca. They set up amateur racers on rented closed tracks in tons of classes.
remember, even if your fuel tank in the vehicle doesn't hold enough wvo for the entire trip, you can just carry along a couple of extra “cubies” full of wvo. Many people have told me they want bigger fuel tanks and I don't see why. I can fill my Mercedes 300D tank with 18 gallons, and carry 50 gallons more in the trunk. That would take me on a 1,700 mile trip!

If there was some sort of punishment for those who commit murder while street racing, there would be no need for such laws as this one. However, the common punishment, as was shown when the sons of two wealthy natives of India were street racing on a downtown street and killed a taxi driver, is house arrest.
Thus driving to the danger of the public is the only form of legal murder allowed in Canada. Want to get rid of your ex-wife? Come up behind her car at 250 kph and punt her into Eternity! No charge! Isn't that $20 traffic ticket and that stern finger-wag worth it?
You betcha.
Change the law so that if you murder someone using a vehicle as a weapon, you get the sentence other murderers get, and there you are.
