How to get over my fear of this one, extremely scary roller coaster?
I love roller coasters. I get squeamish but really excited. HOWEVER, Top Thrill Dragster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Thrill_… scared me like no other. I had no happy, adrenaline thrill rushing through me afterwards. Imagining actually riding it again makes my stomach start turning.
Well my boyfriend is an extremist. He loves the scare of this ride. All roller coasters scare me a little, but not as much as I’m enjoying them! Top Thrill just scared me incredibly.
Last year we got into a little argument because I refused to ride it for a second time, even though he had someone to ride it with. This year we might go alone and he’s telling me I’m going to have to ride it.
To avoid another argument over this ride I know I’ll just have to go on it again… so what do I do to get over something like this? Do I need to just keep riding it to get used to it? What if I’m just as scared the second time?
Tell your boyfriend to grow some balls and go on the ride alone.
Honestly, if you did not enjoy it, why should you have to go on again?
I love roller coasters, but not all roller coasters float my boat. I tend to avoid the ones I don't enjoy because I am at an amusement park to be amused, not feel sick, piss my pants, or have an upset stomach all day.
If you really feel you have no other option than to go on the ride, grit your teeth and do it. It might not be half as bad the second time, you'll know what to expect and what not.
But again, don't go on just to please him. If he wants things to work out, he shouldn't push it if you honestly don't want to go on.
