front motor dragster

should i sell my camaro, part it out, or just finish the pjoject?
i have a 1992 camaro RS, i has no motor or trans in it but i do have them for it, also it has no steering column front wheels, brakes (any part, but have most of the stuff to fix than in the car) and the front seats are missing, im asking $280 for the whole thing (without motor and trans) and im hoping to get another one that will be eaiser for me to fix up
could i get more money if i parted it out because everything else is in good shape and is there or should i bite the bullet and buy a steering column and finish it, im not hoping to have a beautiful street legal show car, but a dragster im trying my best to get into racing and this is the only thing that i will be able to do

Ditch the camaro. If it was in better shape then keep it. Here's your best bet to go fast on the cheap. Find an older Cadillac with the 500 v8. One that's drivable and street worthy shouldn't cost too much. Make sure everything is in good shape and is running like a top. When everything is running great make a few runs at the strip. Once you get consistant times transplant everything to a lighter car like a nova. When you can get the Nova to hook up start lightening the car. With close to 3000 lbs less that Caddy drivetrain should get you in the 12s.
Since looks are not important find a straight six 4 door nova. That should be easier and more affordable than a v8 coupe. The extra length of the 4 door will help with traction and weight transfer. Little know tip drag race 4 door cars. There might be a better rear gear on the 6 clynider car to boot.
