Hi, JT here. Thanks for visiting my Drag Race Car site. Hope you find what you're looking for...there's tons of information and links here. Feel free to leave comments or drop me a line.
I recognize the sound at 2:47 !!! It is one of the sounds that makes it into nearly every Hollywood movie! Is it a Final Cut Pro stock sound???
Obviously you’re talking completely out of your ass and know nothing about accident statistics. I’ve reviewed them before when I built a debate that shown drunk driving takes more lives in one year than organized street racing has in its entire history and you’re not even close (the point of that debate was because organized street racing comes with a far worse penalty in most states than vehicular manslaughter while under the influence, not to condone street racing). Speed is sometimes a side effect but not paying attention (cellphone use, kids, GPS, radio, etc) is the main cause of accidents. There’s a reason the autobahn doesn’t have a speed limit in many areas, because speed isn’t the main issue. It does however have extremely strict driver’s etiquette and laws that are heavily enforced to keep those idiots camping in the left lane from causing a wreck (it’s illegal to be in the left lane unless you are passing which usually requires a very high rate of speed). Also you do know using a cellphone is the equivalent to drunk driving in regards to how badly it effects your driving ability right? It was proven a few years ago, it just hasn’t been enforced nearly the same. Yes, I was in a convoy of high performance cars, roughly 70 kind of like you see in those DVD’s. Some of us act stupid, most of us don’t hence why I said it’s absolutely nothing like the youtube video. I have a SRT6 that I take to the track every so often.
The answers prior are not totally incorrect but I would like to add a little more. Not all pro players have stick, glove, etc contracts with manufacturers. Teams are supplied with equipment by the manufacturer. With the exception of goaltenders, if a player gets traded, his gear is required to match that of the rest of the team. Teams keep a stock of gear specifically for situations such as these. When you are buying pro stock gear online, you are typically buying the gear that either went unused for a season or more which was kicked back to the manufacturer. I currently own pro stock goalie pads, forward gloves and forward pants. I bought all of the gear brand new and online.
When it comes to sticks, typically they are manufactured with less regard to durability. They do not carry a warranty.
