we run a 11.1 ratio sbc 406. couple guys say that the 2bbl 500cfm carb will run the pistons hot. they are forged. or should we step it up to 2bbl 650 cfm. my machinist said that alot of guys run this set up and it works. we are new to racing and not have money to through away.
I would get at least a second opinion from someone who is running what you want. In pit experience is best info possible. A single heat range plug can make a difference.

Best to call summit racing tech line and they will help you get the right cam for your needs, too many variables with gear ratios, tire size, torque converters, ETC, to give a good answer on that question.
