| | DVD - TOO FAST TO RACE [N/A] $29.95 "The ‘Group B’ International Motorsports Category was conceived in the late seventies as a return to the ‘good old days’ when amateur and factory teams alike could run the same production-based cars in either sports car racing or championship rally events. By the early eighties the class had become the ‘Godzilla’ of the rally scene and what resulted were the most awesome cars ever seen on the rally stages of the world - 600 horsepower, 4WD, turbocharged monsters that could cover forest, tarmac or gravel stages faster than anything ever seen before or since. . In 1986 the door was slammed shut on the F1 cars of mountain and forest roads. Faster and faster cars combined with wilder and crazier crowds meant that within the confines of rally car competition the group B rocket ships were just “too fast to race. . The legacy of Group B, however, is a whole range of spectacular cars that continue to thrill enthusiasts. Features the Ford RS200, Lancia 037 Rally, Lancia S4, MG Metro 6R4, Peugeot 205/T16, Audi Quattro, Renault 5 Turbo, Opel, Citroen also the amazing Ferrari 288GTO Evoluzione, Jaguar XJ220 supercar and Porsche 959 - the car that came closest of all to fulfilling the Group B ethos. It won both the Paris-Dakar and its class in the Le Mans 24 Hour Race! . Includes awesome action footage and stunning close ups. . Running Time: 65 minutes" |

top thrill dragster is FAST
Has anyone ever been on the Top Thrill Dragster?
My friend that has been on a thousand roller coasters suggested that I NEVER go on the Top Thrill Dragster UNTILL I have rode all the other big, fast, and scary ones. Is it that bad? The only thing that scary about I think is that you will get a HUGE tickle feeling in your tummy when you go down. Have u been on it? Is it that bad? How is it? I have only been on the Iron Dragon(which I LOVE) and the Corkscrew(which I also LOVE) and the Witches Wheel (which I LOVE that too) But how is the Dragster??? Be serious!
In short it's one of the best things ever.
The feeling in your gut is NOTHING compared to the launch though...unless you sit in the back. It's so much fun though. I had a blast the first time I rode it. After the first time you'll want to ride it again and again and again.

Hi, JT here. Thanks for visiting my Drag Race Car site. Hope you find what you're looking for...there's tons of information and links here. Feel free to leave comments or drop me a line.
I think I would prefer a Top Thrill Dragster rollback to being stuck on the Magnum's first hill. I missed out on what could have been my best chance at a rollback on a rainy day launch when the train I was on roared over the crest of the hill… Just like it is supposed to do… Much to my disappointment.Sorry I can't make the pilgrimage to the Cedar Point this summer… I miss the Macho Nachos.

Hello everyone! Long time reader and “lurker”, first time poster.
Hello!! I really enjoyed your comments! I especially liked your observations here:
As for the request for more examination of individual wraith, can we, as humans, primarily individualistic, truly understand the wraith (a “hive minded” population) correctly? All of the wraith we “know” (Michael, Todd, and Steve) we have come to know outside of the hive, not within the hive. Can you understand a bee? Even if you could learn a bee’s “language” and “culture”, you can never understand the bee since you have a different biological makeup and imperative. I know that you mentioned that the wraith do not view humans as more than food, but I think you are missing the inability of a wraith to perhaps be “understandable” to us. Watch the plea of McKay to Todd in “Miller’s Crossing”, McKay has to resort to the concept of sustanence (sp?) and freedom in order to gain Todd’s help since Todd refuses to, or may not understand, the concept of family/individual relationships.
I may be just babbling, but I think your argument is worth debate.
I love that scene between Rodney and Todd, but wasn't exactly sure WHY, until now. This is really more than a cultural divide – it's a species divide. Of course Todd 'may not understand the concept of family/individual relationships' – most likely it's a foreign concept to Wraith. Wraith are not 'human', so we cannot expect them to have the same social structure and morality as we do. Maybe that's why I like them so much, because I think of them more as animals/insects, and sympathize with them the same way I sympathize with any animal who is misunderstood by humans (the killing of sharks out of sheer ignorance is a perfect example of this). I feel pity for animals because – whereas humans often have a choice – animals behave on instinct, and their survival often depends on the mercy – or lack thereof – of humans. If only Lanteans tried a bit harder to understand Wraith, instead of trying to change them or kill them – well…things could be quite different for both all the way round. (I do think Todd is trying to understand humans…and would like to believe that the Lanteans are trying to do the same.)

Hmmm, The Last Man was very interesting! The Ronan/Todd scene was awesome!
The scene with Ronon and Todd was so damn good – actually better than seeing Teal'c and Ronon fighting side by side. I mean – here are two guys who hate each other, and NO Sheppard to tell either one to stand down. But, on their own, they decide to work together…I mean, that had to take a LOT on Ronon's part…a hellava lot. To put his hatred aside for that brief moment…just – wow. I would like to think that in that last moment, he both saw the irony of the situation, and – for the first time in his life – admired a Wraith who was not so unlike himself. That little smile just slays me…
It was golden…absolutely golden. It will be hard to top that moment – ever. If TPTB ever decide to kill off either of these characters again, it can never match this.
But that scene also makes me want to see more Todd & Ronon action next season. It was SO good – both of them on the same side, kicking ass – just totally sweet! I've wanted to see more Wraith hand-to-hand fighting (because the constant use of guns is a bit boring)…but now I want to see MORE Ronon/Todd team-ups…damn, they could really do a number on the Genii…
Dang it, now I'm totally spoiled…not sure anything they do next season can top the thrill of that scene…
Yup. The bar has been raised.

I've been to Cedar Point and watched the people go on the Top Thrill Dragster. It goes up over 400 feet. Can't remember all the specifics. Go to Cedar Point's website and it will give you all the details. It's probably http://www.cedarpoint.com, but if that doesn't work, just type cedar point in Google.
It is awesome to watch, I can tell you that (I would never go on it).
